How to use Ledger Nano

A Ledger Nano S is a hardware wallet. It let you to store your Idena private keys in a secure way, even using an infected computer. This guide will show you how to store and manage your DNA using Idena Ledger app.

Requirements

Install the IDENA app on Ledger Nano S

idena-ledger is still in Ledger's approval queue. Meanwhile, you can install it manually on your devices following these steps.

  1. Open the Manager in Ledger Live

  2. Connect and unlock your Ledger Nano S

  3. If asked, allow the manager on your device by pressing the right button

  4. Find IDENA in the app catalog

  5. Click the Install button of the app

  6. An installation window appears

  7. Your device will display Processing…

  8. The app installation is confirmed

How to connect the Ledger on idena-pocket

A client that support IDENA Ledger app is idena-pocket. These steps will help you to connect your Ledger to idena-pocket.

  1. Open Google Chrome and be sure experimental-web-platform-features flag is enabled (chrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features)

  2. Go to https://pocket.idena.dev

  3. Connect your Ledger Nano S to your computer using USB port and unlock it

  4. Open IDENA app. You should be able to read "Application is ready" on Ledger screen

  5. Click on [Connect Ledger] on idena-pocket and click on [Confirm]

  6. If asked, confirm that Chrome want to connect to Ledger

  7. On Ledger screen a "Verify address" message will appear. Click on right button 3 times and read you address.

  8. Finally, you should be able to read on Ledger screen "Approve". Confirm click on left and right button.

Now, you should be able to read all info about your address. Also, you will be able to copy and share your address to receive a payment.

How to send crypto asset

  1. Be sure that Ledger is connected to idena-pocket

  2. Click on [Send] tab

  3. Paste destination address

  4. Insert the amount that you want to send

  5. Click on [Send]

  6. Info about transaction will be showed on Ledger. Read all fields clicking on right button.

  7. When you read "Accept and send" click on left and right button to confirm.

How to send crypto asset attaching payload

If you want to send a transaction with payload, you will have to enable from Setting section of Idena Ledger app, that you want to be able to sign transaction with payload.

  1. Open Idena Ledger app

  2. Click on right button 2 times, until you read "Settings" and click on left and right button

  3. If you read "Payload NOT Allowed", click on left and right button. Now you should read "Payload Allowed".

  4. Click on right button 2 times. When you read "Back", click on left and right button.

  5. Now you can send a transaction with payload
